Hilton Hotels Corporation reported today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will likely be working company-wide on new product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, and others. Mirza is based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports right to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Just before joining Hilton, Mirza was a senior executive in the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was responsible for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career in the beginning Financial, Inc. and opened the initial U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes many years of project management experience with Deloitte/Braxton Associates within the regions of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.
Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Cachet in the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries within the parts of customer strategy, cool product development and repair innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, using a give attention to brand marketing and corporate strategy. Also, he holds an M.A. in Economics as well as a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
